But there has been several people recently, independent of one another, that have asked me how they can better “like themselves”.

Easy question, tough answer.

It would seem that “liking oneself” would come easy, but not always…that’s why bringing up self-talk and self esteem are 2 of the 3 things we go over in the Coaching Workshops that deal with getting our minds right.

Liking ourselves is a balancing act and we need to get the balance started by upping our self talk and self esteem to where at least others see us. And then we need to understand that, as humans, we make mistakes, it’s OK – and not get down on ourselves too much.

Then we can switch our focus on what is good and great about us, instead of what’s we don’t really like…then, we can be free to “like oneself” – because seriously – What’s not to love?

Yours in “Starts with You” – Coach

Black Friday, is it?

Is it named because of how we feel after eating too much turkey? Nope.

It has some different origins, meaning different things, but most of us today relate it to start of some of the busiest shopping days of the year. And that term actually was originated in Philadelphia, referring to heavy traffic, and retailers correlate it as the point of the year where the sales go from being in the “red” and going into the “black”.

But Cyber Monday is catching on. It’s the Monday after Thanksgiving, when people actually shop online, from work and home, many of them do so, to avoid the heavy traffic of Black Friday.

Since we just saw or reached out to the ones that are dear to us yesterday, maybe it’s the right time to get them something special for the upcoming holidays?

Whatever days we choose to buy…it’s that time of year to shop

Yours in “Choice” – Coach

We may not be with all of the ones that are close to us on this special day, as we all have a lot going on in our lives, and so does everyone else.

So where ever you will be on Thanksgiving day, have a blast and let’s be thankful for the ones we’re with…and let’s also remember to reach out to the ones that are not with us, but wish they were.

And that is to spend your life, in your own way.

Sound corny or unreachable? Maybe at first, but what is means, is that we first align ourselves with our passion.

That’s the stumble point for most: “How can I make a living lying on the couch, or playing video games, or just hanging out?”

The second part clarifies: we then align our passion with a beneficial Vision, other than ourselves…like having your passion helping out individuals, pets, the world – just pick it.

Once we are aligned with our passion “plus” our Vision, we will be spending our life…our way…while helping others.

He also tried his hand at selling paper cups and then sold the multi-mixer for making milkshakes to Dick and Mac McDonald.

He never stood in line for a hamburger and was intrigued by the idea that a restaurant could sell 40 milkshakes at a time

The McDonald brothers offered the business to their children, but they didn’t want it.

Ray Kroc decided to buy a franchise, and then bought out the McDonald brothers for 1 million dollars each.

The rest is History – and now is the #1 fast food chain in the world.

To attain, when we persevere.

Yes, virtually anything can be achieved over time.

This is what we must be mindful of, when we set out our goals.

Not only must we stick with our goal, in order to attain it, but we must keep in mind to carve out the time needed to reach our goal, even if it takes longer than originally thought, or planned for.

Persistence is key, for many of us give up when the end is near, because we didn’t plan for enough time, and in knowing this, we can attain just about anything we set out to do.

Yours in “Persevere” – Coach

Same old thing?

Maybe and maybe not…but if you are, maybe it’s time to change things up?

It would be nice to have someone come by and ask us what we would like changed, and do it for us…but I don’t know what those people are called, or where to find them…so it’s probably not the best game plan…waiting for them to come by.

Changing things up ourselves, if we want change, is probably the best bet.

We just need to identify what we want changed, and pick what we want it to be changed to, and bingo! We change what we want changed…and it’s what we want!

Or we can keep complaining about the same old thing.

What make us different from other species is our unique cognitive abilities of “thought” which allows us to process information and intellectualize.

It’s quite useful for opening a jar, typing on the computer or even understanding complex tasks, things a dog simply isn’t equipped to do.

But as we continually think, some of the beauty of the moments slip by, that’s why dogs may have it a bit better, in that department.

Remember, as Cesar Millan, the dog whisperer says, “a dog does not intellectualize, she just accepts and enjoys what the world gives her”.
